Replacing powerwise QE chargers
In the last 6-7 months I have replaced about 7 of my chargers out of 50. I have repaired a handful that needed internal wires reattached from being snagged or pulled on or needed the plug replaced from wear so that they did not plug in tightly but worked if you wiggle them. I guess my question is, has anyone developed any surefire way of diagnosing the chargers and been successful at repairing internal problems or have my chargers just reached there life expectancy? They are on there fourth year and batteries replaced last year.

Re: Replacing powerwise QE chargers
The fact that only 7 are gone is a miracle, in my opinion. I would never consider replacing a QE with another QE, get a Dpi (cheaper than a rebuilt QE & better).

Re: Replacing powerwise QE chargers
Since he works at an EZGO dealer, I'd imagine that those are all customer's chargers that have failed. That being said, there is an obvious issue with these chargers

Re: Replacing powerwise QE chargers
Not to hijack this thread but....anyone know if the DPI charger will do a float charge on 2006 36v TXT Series cart? Not sure how this will work with the requirement of unplugging it each time before it will start a new cycle.

Yes it will do a float charge. Just leave it plugged in.

Re: Replacing powerwise QE chargers
You have to pretty much "special order" a DPI that does not float charge (one with a relay in it, yamaha OEM Dpi chargers are this way). Thats the beauty of the float charge feature, it really does not need to be unplugged & replugged if you leave it plugged in all the time when not in use.
