Controller "SWAMPED"
While I was at work, my 12 year old son thought it would be fun to mud ride in my golf cart since his 4 wheeler is down (bet you know why). Anyway way after minding their own business and being extra careful (yeah right) they ended up in water. Apparently a creek appeared out of nowhere and swallowed them. Blah blah blah now the carts at my house with a fault code of 5,5 on a Curtis 1268 which is "main contactor open" can someone tell me what that is and if I can fix it? I've unplugged everything to dry out. Any advice?

Re: Controller "SWAMPED"
You got the right idea disconnect power and let it dry out. I would put a drop light or something to put a little heat to the controller or better remove it and see if you can shake water out of it and put it on a warm surface for a week or so.

Re: Controller "SWAMPED"
No thanks! I'm not trading problems!! I told him I can't wait until he get stuff so I can tear it up.
I took the controller off and I'm going to let it dry inside over night. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. |

He didn't say anything about "trading"
Seriously though, it might be a good time to change gear lube. . |

Re: Controller "SWAMPED"
well believe it or not.....the problem may not have anything to do with the controller....as the controllers are pretty much a sealed unit....HOWEVER, the motor is not.....but the same things apple, dry it out really good and give it a go.

Re: Controller "SWAMPED"
I have always used rice to dry out cellphones...Might work in this case.

Re: Controller "SWAMPED"
Yeah I was thinking about the pedal box. Once it dries out I'm going to take that apart and clean it.
