question about voltage with charging
I have a 48 volt system. good Trojan batteries and a DP I charger.
I just noticed the amperage is at 5 amps And the voltage was 57.25 does that seem right? |

Re: question about voltage with charging
It depends on what user selectable charge mode it is in (Mode 2 for Trojan) and what charge stage it is in.
In the Absorption stage with Mode-2 selected, the voltage is a constant 56.4V, but the Finish stage uses dV/dT technology to terminate the charge and is constant current until the voltage stops climbing, so it may reach as high as 67V depending on battery health. Seeing 57.6V would be normal. When it switches over to float charge, the voltage will decrease to about 52.5 and stay there. |
