Default Re: 95' Club Car Potentiometer Problem **UPDATE**

I installed pre-mcor to mcor4. Solenoid still just clicks.

Cleaned all batteries, shows 50v across the line.

Solenoid shows 50v on both large terminals when pedal is not depressed and when it is depressed. 50volts to the controller. 50v at the F/R reverse. Not sure what else to check for.

Also, attempted to manually jump the solenoid. placed in forward and reverse and no movement.

Any ideas?

Check motor for continuity between S1 and S2 and F1 and F2

I check A1 to A2 and the other S1 to S2 -- both fluctuated a little bit but ultimately close to "000" on each... I used the setting on my volt meter that looks like a little arrow pointing into a plus sign.. -- ">+"

checked using Ohms too and both showed a slight fluctuation of 0.00 to 0.02.

Could you be talking about the diode checker setting ">|"

continuity is the one where if you touch the two probes together, they will make a sound on most meters

Try this. Remove the resistor from the two big terminals on the solenoid. Then measure the voltages again to see it you got 50v. On one you should have it all the time. On the other you should have 50v only when the solenoid is engaged. Measure with your neg lead on the main neg of battery.

OK, checked the solenoid.

Removed resistor, positive side showed 50v, other side showed originally 15v, but when i pressed the accelerator it went to 49.9v. When i released the pedal it would drop to about 46v and stay that way.

Ps. I don't think my multimeter has a sound option.

That would tell me your solenoid is ok. One more thing to be certain. Disconnect all the leads from the large positive side of the solenoid. There should be two. Place your meter in ohms position and measure across the two large terminals. It should go between zero ohms and open as the foot sw is depressed and released.
