Whoever put them in there redone the battery tray. They fit very good. I'm going to get new batteries as soon as I can but can't swing it right now.

Ok guys have another question about a chip in my pds. Didn't want to make another thread. The guy said he had a plug in it and it is run to a selector switch. It suppose to control all 4 chips. I gps it and got 16mph out of each setting. He also gave me a freedom plug. It did 20mph with it. Any advice on this. Would love to be able to adjust for the kids without opening the box up. Here's a few pics

The "speed chip" selector or correctly called the personality module controls mainly the amount of regen braking is applied for riding down steep hills. It can also adjust the rpm limiter to adjust carts mph.

These pics should explain it better. The previous owner just made then selectable via switch instead of swapping out "chip" often.

From my old memory,

switch the key off,
change "chip" and turn key on.
Drive.

That's if it's wired correctly.

Ok. Maybe that will work. When I get it all back together I will try that. Thanks so much.

You need to flip the Run/Tow switch to Tow before disconnecting or reconnecting any plug or wire with a PDS. Otherwise, it can take the controller out.

A PDS controller is "ON" 100% of the time, unless the Run/Tow switch is in Tow, so if you don't flip the switch to Tow, you are working on live circuits.

In late 2008, EZGO started installing PDS controllers (called VPS) whose PDS modes could be changed on he fly, but prior to that, the Run/Tow had to be toggled to reboot the controller and re-read which pins where jumpered on J2.

Except for top speed and level of regen braking, there are no performance differences in the four PDS modes that I am aware of.

When you put the controller in diagnostic mode, the first set of beeps tells you what PDS mode it is in.

Ok. That being said I'm going to move the location of the selector switch to under the seat to keep anyone from changing settings. Have to get under there for the run tow anyways. Lol. Thanks guys. Yall Rock!!
