Default Stuck Armature !

Hoping to get a few tips on a problem I'm having disassembling our very first project.
Apparently this 91 Club Car saw some salt water (it lived at a marina) and I am having a hard time seperating motor from differential. We took motor apart completely and have it down to just the armature, and it is very stuck. Also cart won't roll more than a few inches back and forth - so something is locked up.. brakes, differential gears, I don't know.
Any advice anybody can offer up would be greatly appreciated to this first timer :)
Thanks in advance !

This might seem extreme, but here's a way to get the armature off the shaft w/o ruining something.

First, remove the rear end from the cart.
Second, take off the wheels and tires and bolt the passenger side brake drum on backwards to protect the studs.
Third, stand the rear end up on the passenger side, the armature should be hanging down - apply either heat or mass quantities of PB Blaster (or both if youre careful) to the shaft where the armature meets it.
Fourth, pick it up about a foot and let it slam down - after a few blows the armature should fall off. (Keep trying if not, it took me a little bit) Have something soft or someone ready to catch it.

This is info from TahoeDawgZ71, and this method has worked for me more than once.

First time I tried it I couldn't get it either. BUT, I learned you have to pick it up fairly high and drop it, a couple feet drop height really makes a difference.

You can also tap the armature with a soft faced hammer or a good rubber mallet...first on one side and then the other...be sure to let some type of real good penetrating oil to soak in maybe overnight...it will come...there is nothing holding it except the rust on the splined shaft.

This wasnt too extreme at all, and most importantly worked great ! Thanks for the tip ...

Glad it worked for you, I've had great luck with that method.

Hopefully the inside of the rear end doesn't look like that also, as that or the brakes may be what is locking the rear end up.
