Default Heavy Duty Solenoid Question

I am going to be using an Alltrax DCX600 controller and programming it down to around 300-400 amps and use my stock motor until I upgrade my motor. My question is what size solenoid to use? Can I just get a 400 amp solenoid and use it with my stock motor? Or do I need to get a 200 amp with my stock motor and then buy a different 400 amp solenoid later when I upgrade motors and increase my amps?

Get the 400 now, it will work with the existing motor. You should also get a new diode (3 amps) for the new solenoid.

Awesome, thanks Sergio. I was hoping the 400 would work. Do I also need a new resistor?

The Regen carts did not have a pre-charge resistor, so You need to get a new one.

It is a 470Ω 10 watt resistor.

I'd love to hear back on how the controller performs with the stock motor. I have stock both right now.
