F&R switch keeps melting
Hi guy,
I have a 2001 club car transporter series that last year I put a long travel lift, 23" tires, the beast motor kit with new controller, 4 ga wires, solenoid, new batteries, etc. Everything is great unless I end up taking a older person for a ride and try to go slower then normal. It has melted the contacts on the HD controller twice. If I drive right along it will heat up but I'm guessing I get there before it does damage and then has time to cool? After the 1st melt down I had some new 4/0 welding cable left over so I used that to connect all the batteries and to the controller and switch. I read that Scotty B. Suggested that someone else with a similar problem might want to go to a solenoid type switch? What does that mean and where do I find one? Thanks, Dug |

Re: F&R switch keeps melting
With your application the sw202 reversing contactor is the way to go. It is a beast at roughly 7 pounds but should make your problems go away.
