Yes. Be sure to put it on jack stands while you do this just in case the motor decides to engage.

go easy when you jack stands . you can push the motor over its rev limits real easy

Will do -- need to get an extra foot tomorrow. BTW, does the 2000 DS have a tow switch and, if so, could that possible go bad and cause this -- or would the solenoid not be clicking at all if the tow switch were bad? Thanks

OK, my extra foot arrived so today will check. Pardon my lameness, but where exactly do I measure on the solenoid? At the large + and - terminals? Thanks

Black lead on the battery pack main negative and red positive on large solenoid post that you are checking. Should have voltage on both sides with the pedal pressed.

OK, checking in the AM. Question: if I jump the two main solenoid terminals, and the cart goes, I'm told that means solenoid is bad. I this true?
