Can you rebuild a 2001.5+ EZGO steering rack?

I am currently rebuilding a 2003 TXT. The cart is almost done and now that it is down on it's own wheels, I have noticed that the steering slips a bit at center. I believe I am missing a tooth or two on my rack I suspect this happened when the previous owner of the cart hit something with the passenger side wheel. It was actually a hard enough hit to bend the front axle a bit. Nevertheless, that is fixed but the fact the steering slips a bit when going left or right of center really bugs me. Can these (2001.5 and newer) be rebuilt? Or is my only option to buy the complete assembly?

YES they can, the rack is a seperate part that can be ordered, P/N #70604G01

Thank you! My EZGO service manual didn't have the individual part number for the rack and I couldn't find a newer rebuild kit. The ones prior to 2001.5 seem to be everywhere.

yeah I am not sure why they (EZGO) don't have a kit for newer models.....but I found the P/N for the rack on their site.

and their is a tech and service manual available on line that you can download.
