I'm still a film dinosaur. Most of my glass won't work on the new cameras. I'm a Canon dude.

I still have my 1971 A-1.

I'm a Canon guy also.

Ironically, between the two of us, we have the Alpha and Omega of the Canon line of automated exposure, manual focus, film cameras.
Your A-1 was the first and my T-90 was the last.

I tried using some of my better glass on the 60D that replaced it, but it is a hassle because they end up being totally manual f-stop lenses.
However, I had a 500mmm f/8 and a 1200mm f/13 mirror telephotos and it was just a matter of finding the right adapter for them.
Since the 60D has a APS-C sensor size, the effective focal lengths are now 800MM and 1920MM, so I can reach out a ways for the shot.

Fuji ASA 100 color print film was what I used for most things, but ASA 200 is the slowest stuff Fuji makes these days.

On the other hand, the resolution at 18 megapixels rivals that of ASA 100 film as long as you don't crop too much.

Two of the things I really like about digital photography is near instant feedback and that I can correct the color temperature after the fact. Other than that, I like film better and even though I can, I don't mess with the pictures much.

Canon A-1 did auto everything, manual f, manual t, and manual everything.

I had a Rebel 2000, which had limited use.

Must be related to a pirate or two.

My first SLR was a used Edixa Relfex-D. Manual everything with a non-return mirror.
Wish I still had it, but it got stolen out of my car, back in the 60's when I was stationed in Paris.
