if lever on brake was not pushed too far or backwards AND brake was not abused
brake slammed on --wheels locked up -- brake could last life of cart.
Not likely, but could.

You might try this.

Safety first: Powered cart on jack-stands can cause owies..
stay clear of wheels and electric power-- A.C. at this voltage and current is dangerous.

1) Place rear of cart on jack-stands with body off.
2) Run cart at less than 1/2 throttle for about 45 seconds.
3) don't over-rev high speed is not needed
4) Let off throttle and let wheels come to stop
5) feel motor casing and brake casing

if brake and motor are both cool brake is probably good to go..
if brake is hot or even more than a little warmer than motor-- replace brake
if motor is hot and brake is cool-- WTF?

we do this test when referbing carts -- have seen smoke roll from brake !!

Brake is fairly easy to change- can be accessed through bag well cover - or from under cart(jack-stands PLEASE).

At our shop- we let sleeping dogs lie, if it aint broke.....

"How do i push w/o lever ? " Run Tow should dis-enguage brake.
1) key off
2) set run tow to tow
3) key to "n"

cart should roll freely
******** cart will have NO brakes **** none-zilch-nada *******
Unless you turn key to Off -- then park/emergency will re-enguage

Redneck, thanks for the info, and for the time you put in , in answering me.

I will try the test you stated, and i will be smarter about it next time

I have been buying a couple 2011 RXv's for 2200.00, and fixing them up. The snowbirds love them. I program to 19.6, put 14" wheels, new factory body, and upholstery, new batteries, lite kits etc. Having a ball doing it.

As soon as i get one finished, someone wants to buy it, and i start over.
