Unhappy RXV diagnostic scanner not working

Took my scanner out of the drawer today...plugged it in under the cupholder on my 2008 RXV and it won't come on . I tried it in tow and run and with key on and off....no results. Are there batteries in the scanner that may be dead ? Thanks !

Usually a bad connection or wire.
Check socket for a "pushed pin"
pin in connecter bent or pushed partially out.

The scanner has no "self-power" batteries, it relies on the cart power. I assume the cart has charged batteries, right? Any response from cart when key on, normal run plug in place?

Good catch-- caught me " assuming" again.

Thanks for your response....cart runs gps 34mph....no issues with cart batteries
I just wanted to reset cart to stage 3 and perhaps increase initial torque as the 1:13 ratio gear is a little high for initial launch. We found a port at top of scanner and have powered it to a 12 volt charger.

Have a Healthy & Happy day !

Leave it on freedom mode but set the top mph to 14.5mph or less (i set to 14.5mph with 10.5:1 gears to get 25mph top speed). Only option for "increased torque" is set acceleration setting to "high", it doesnt deliver any more torque, but will shorten the time until full power is applied, which will feel like a little more torque. I dont like high speed gears in a rxv (due to its negative effect on braking power), but if you want to go faster than ~19mph on a rxv with "danaher" controller with street tires, its the only way.

Correct:
Torque is not adjustable. Ditto the high speed gears. Exceeds legal limits for
golf cart in Ga.-- Legal liability problems if someone gets hurt.
Yes.. braking is compromised as regen brake effectiveness is reduced by noticeable amount--just like start up torque -- just at opposite end of scale.
Brake is weakest at highest speed. Also braking with high speed gears tends to use "burn off" resistor more as power generated exceeds batteries ability to absorb power.

if you keep high speed gears- please consider upgraded/front brakes..

Cgtech may have better ideas/suggestions ..

Be Safe...

Good Luck & keep us posted..
