Re: FL street legal
That sounds crazy! If I understand the state of South Carolina correctly all we have to do is have insurance, headlights and tail lights to get a decal. But I am unsure of how far they will allow you to drive it.

Re: FL street legal
Wow, was thinking of getting my cart legal in Florida soon, may not happen now! Sounds like a lot of stuff to go through just to get a plate.

Re: FL street legal
Its not really difficult, just tedious. A pile of paperwork filled out their way regardless of logic or sense.

Re: FL street legal
Anyone here know where to call in Broward to get the cart inspected? No one I call at DHSMV seems to know about getting it inspected or where to get it done.

Re: FL street legal
Did you try 954 969-4216? They should be able to tell you. I think the office is in Margate. There has been a few changes to the laws too since this thread began. Now gas carts are legal, so are six seaters. The carts aren't titled Aspt but are now LSV (I think)

Re: FL street legal
I just read that last night, I wish I would of known it prior I think I would of went gas, they are easier to speed up and no range issues. But I do like the quiet ride of electric. Thanks I will call that number and see where I get, I hope the inspection isn’t that difficult. I cannot get a receipt with DOT approved or anything on the seat belts so I don’t know if that will be an issue.

Re: FL street legal
Thanks Grinch, I called the number and they said I first bring in all the paperwork and then if I pass that they will set up an inspection for the cart. I asked if I needed the weight slip for them to review the paperwork and they said yes. That means two trailer rentals to add to the build cost.
