Question Installed new batteries with Cart in Run Mode...not Tow/Maintenance

I have a 2000 EZGO TXT 36 volt that I replaced six batteries with Sam's Club batteries. I replaced each battery one at a time as to not get the wires crossed up. After I replaced all of them, I put them on the charger. The charger appeared to work and I let the charger run until it automatically shut off. I got ready to drive to the course and it was dead. I started researching some forums. I should have had the "Run" - "Tow/Maintenance" switch in "Tow" and I had it in "Run". I switched back to "Tow" and I unhooked each of the batteries where each one stood alone. I charged each each battery separately with an individual charger. I re-installed the wires and put it back on the charger. Charger ran a full cycle and shut off automatically. Still dead. The reverse indicator is very weak. When you push the accelerator it clicks but no movement.

What do I do now? What do I check/replace/etc.?

Thanks.

It sounds like you may have one or more of the batteries installed incorrectly?
refer to the TXT wiring below. Fig D
If the wiring is OK, check voltage and post results here.
Cycle the run/tow switch one time and try to go?

Thanks scottyb. I am going to ask a couple of stupid questions. There are two wires coming from the back of the cart in the same coupling. One is labled B- and I know it goes to the Negative Post on Battery # 4 in Figure D per your attachment. The smaller wire in the same coupling...where does it go? I have it going to the same Negative Post on Battery # 4. All the other wires are exactly per the diagram. I thought this wire might be out of place. I can't see anything else that is different.

Also, when you say "cycle the run/tow" switch...exactly what do you mean? I was planning to get the wires accurate in "tow" position. Move to "run" position and charge the six batteries until charger shuts off automatically. If that's not the order...please let me know.

Thanks again.

You got lucky

Remember to put the run/tow switch into tow position before any electrical work on the cart.
