Default 94 EZGO MEDALIST Questions

I am thinking about buying my neighbors 94 EZGO medalist. I am wanting to get your feed back on if you think it is a good choice for what i am looking for. I am being a member at a local CC and needing it for playing 9 to 18 holes. It has been sitting for a while. I had her plug it in last night for a few hours and it ran fine slow of course. The battery look new for how clean they are but she is thinking they are about 4 years old. It has a ball cleaner, charger gauge, windshield all that stuff. She told me 500 dollars for the cart it is in great shape. A concern of mine is the course in which i play in hilly the cart seemed a little slow maybe it is just the batterys one not being fully charged and need replaced. I want to make sure that it can handle a hilly course and will be fairly fast climbing. Do you think that is a pretty good deal? I also wonder if you can make these faster through a speed chip?

Logical I'm assuming new batteries are 700 so they would make it 1200 and I have seen newer 09 EZGO rvx with almost new battery for 2200. That model has the regeneration breaking system. I appreciate an advise and it will be greatly considered.

If I do proceed, I would love to make it look like some I see on here with paint job all that fun stuff.

Welcome to BGW
The 94 medalist is a series drive cart. They are a little slow by today's standards and they do slow more on the hills. That is just the nature of the beast. You can do some stuff to improve performance. They are solid reliable carts, simple to work on and all the aftermarket stuff is available for them.

What would be some of the options for performance on one? I have seen the newer ones that are 48 volts have the option of the speed chip? I am just trying to think logically would it cost more money to make the medalist up to todays standards then just getting a newer one?

For your use I would suggest an Ezgo PDS 36v. When fitted with the 'freedom chip' you will reach 19mph on the flats and decent climb rates with one to 2 people riding on the average golf course. Improved performance can be had with controller pkg upgrades.

Grab it now or give me the address. I have a 95 Med, go through my sig link below to see what you can do. With the 48v upgrade and following ScottyB's battery break in directions I am getting 27mph and am street legal. 18 holes - no sweat. I can drive it to the course, play 18 and drive home.

I picked it up last night! I am excited to start it already have read your build from font to back! I love your cart and cant wait start some of the changes. I am bummed cause I think it may look a little odd if i lift it and run low profile tires. I have to check and see what the clubs rules are on that. Dela I hope you are ready for some questions through out my build process. ScottB seems to also be a guru with everything about this process.
