Default Speed Increase for Li Club Car

Can the speed be increased on the new LI club cars?

I am looking at buying a new Li cart, either EZGO or Club Car. Does anyone know about the speeds and possibility upgrades to increase speed? My 72V was tuned by Bob and it does close to 35, I dont want to buy a new cart and be slower……

Unfortunately, any new "golf cart" is restricted to 20 mph maximum by NHTSA. Any vehicles manufactured that can go faster than that is classified at a motor vehicle and needs to meet federal laws pertaining to them.

Unless sold as a street legal LSV, most manufacturers simply do not sell golf carts that can exceed 20 mph.

There is nothing in the federal laws preventing you from modifying a cart to go faster, however. This then becomes a state law issue based on where you live or ride.

My cart meets and exceeds Georgia requirements for street legal operation, but I cannot go 1/2 mile south into Florida to ride. Their laws for street legal are much more stringent.

Call David hicks at revolution. If there’s a way to make the new ones do 35mph he would know. I’m not aware of any upgrades/modifications for them to get anywhere near that speed, but I haven’t really paid much attention either.
