Default Ignition terminal shorted to frame No power now

2001 club car DS 48v
There is no power getting to the ignition switch and the car wont move in forward or reverse.

So I have found in other forums that the key switch terminals shorting to frame is a common problem, but the only suggestions are that its a fuse. I have searched the car top to bottom, I cant find any other fuse except the small tube stile fuse in the yellow insulator that's connected to the charging port and it tests good.

I've called numerous cart shops in my city and they all say "there's a fuse on the ignition switch somewhere". I'm really hoping its not the speed sensor.

I have found wiring diagrams but it shows the green wire goes to the solenoid mounted to the speed controller. However there is no green wire on my solenoid.

Please somebody tell me what the issue is.

You should have a blue wire and a green wire on the key switch. The blue wire sends power to the V-glide.

The green wire should come directly from a splice that goes to the run/tow switch which feeds from the large solenoid terminal that is fed directly from battery B+. See if you have power on that terminal. If you do and still not have power to the key switch, try tracing the power wire back from the key switch and see where it goes.

If the cart has ever been worked on, someone may have installed an inline fuse in that wire. I don't think you have a main fuse on the battery positive terminal.

This should be your diagram:

There's a difference if it's a regen cart or series cart.
Regen will have a rocker switch for FnR, and a Tow/Run switch under the seat.
Series will have a big Lever FNR.

Always disconnect the pack negative before taking anything apart on the cart. It will avoid big headaches in the future.
