2007 ParCar Summit : Fast in reverse but not Forward
Hello, I have a 2007 Summit which I am trying to get back up and running, vin# 5FCLS46A371000132. Currently brand new battery pack at full charge.
When going forward the speed is limited to around 5-8 mph (regardless of Hi/Lo switch position). Going down a hill I can pick up speed to around 15mph...I only mention this as a few times when the speed picked up, the cart braked and felt like regen braking kicked in...don't even know if I have that on my cart. Additionally, when in reverse the cart flys. I was able to go 15mph+ up a steep hill....unfortunately I live on a hill and don't want to take it too far while troubleshooting. Any suggestions? I can provide more info need be. Was maybe thinking it was the speed sensor on the back of the motor biased off other posts? Thanks - J |

Re: 2007 ParCar Summit : Fast in reverse but not Forward
Sounds like you have lost your speed encoder. First double check the connection on the three pin plug to it. Then make sure the 10k reference resistor is actually at 10k ohms. If both those are fine you either replace the speed encoder or have your controller reprogrammed to turn off the speed encoder circuit.

Thank you, and sorry for the late reply. It was the speed encoder; the magnet had a large crack in it. Replaced the sensor and all set now!
