SepEx Controller 5,5 Error Code

I have a 2017 EZGO TXT 48v cart that was lifted and modified by a company called Trail Hog. I was told the Curtis SepEx Model 1268 Motor Controller was bad so I purchased a new one along with a new solenoid. The new controller and solenoid was installed and it ran good for about a day. Now when I push down on the accelerator it will act like it is going to go but abruptly stop like it is losing power. You can get it to go for a little ways if you barely push the accelerator to get it up to speed but eventually it will stop. The single LED light on the controller is flashing 5,5 which according to Curtis means MAIN DROPOUT or Main Contactor Open or possible defective contactor. I replaced the solenoid with a heavier duty White Rodgers 48v solenoid hoping that was the problem. It is actually worse and will barely move. Any insight on my next troubleshooting step would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I have the same problem that is not resolved by swapping the solenoid.
