Slow down my 2016 Suburu Precedent
I know this is a strange request but I cannot get my golf cart to go any slower than 12mph. We have some dirt trails in our neighborhood that I would like to crawl through but I can seem to get the cart to go any slower. I have tried adjusting the throttle cable by the pedal but have had no luck. The cart is running 12 inch wheels with street tires.
Any help is much appreciated. |

Re: Slow down my 2016 Suburu Precedent
Need to make sure your throttle plate/butterfly is closing all of the way.
If needed, you may need to back off the idle stop screw since the engine doesn't idle. Make sure when you adjust your linkage that your start/run microswitch "clicks" just before your throttle starts to open, that should give you some lower speeds. |

Thanks, I am not very mechanically inclined so I assume by linkage you mean the throttle cable by the gas pedal?

I was speaking more about the carburetor linkage, making sure nothing is holding open the throttle at the carburetor.

Pull the rear access panel and check to see if the throttle cable spring has a zip tie on it.
If not, try adjusting the forward governor arm stop screw. If the forward screw has been messed with it will hold the throttle plate open. |

It was the idle stop screw. I backed it out and it works like a dream. Thanks again!
