I bought a 36v and then converted to 48v afterwards. I did all of the conversions at once.

Yes, this ^^^ and you can choose your components which means they will be properly matched for your application and new It costs about $1500 to upgrade all the electronics (in a series cart & less slightly in a sepex cart) including motor, controller, solenoid, F&R, cables. The D&D motors we sell will run on 36 and 48v.
