Flight Systems 500 amp controller. Settings question
So there are 3 settings I can adjust.
1. Current limit 2. Controlled Acceleration 3. Plugging adjustment. #1 when adjusted down seems to take away torque Not sure what #2 and #3 do for speed or torque. I have a Beast motor and when hunting rarely go above 50% throttle. Is there not a way to turn down speed and still keep torque? |

Re: Flight Systems 500 amp controller. Settings question
CL current limit. Sets limit to how much amperage the controller will allow to pass. Reduced current will reduce torque and possibly speed.
CA controlled acceleration is the same as ramp rate or how fast the control opens up from 0-100% of full flow. If it's set too low the cart will seem sluggish. Too high and the cart will seem jumpy. Honestly factory settings are pretty good and 100% flow. |

Flight Systems 500 amp controller. Settings question
Ok. I thought turning down CL would also lower speed but really it didn't. Just made me lose a ton of torque.
Guess I would need another brand controller to truly control speed and torque for each driving situation. |

Re: Flight Systems 500 amp controller. Settings question
Only thing I adjusted on my 700 was the acceleration. It was just a TAD too slow taking off for my liking so I bumped it up just a little bit and it was perfect.
Will probably have to adjust it up just a little more to overcome the taller tires I am soon getting, and maybe not dependent on how it responds to the new throttle I plan for. The good thing about them being adjustable is you can fine tune it exactly how you like! There was a member here who made a speed limiter modification in your exact situation a while back. The only problem is while he slowed the cart down he also lost torque. I need 100% torque and 50% speed in the woods.
