Club Car DSIQ Backup/Diagnostic alarm
I have an old toaster style 84' DS 36V and a 2002 DSIQ. Neither of them have a working back up alert. That is how they came to me. I haven't really missed it (no unintended backing up incidents, no kids at this 55 plus RV resort), but I like things to work as designed and can see the usefulness of the alert sounds, especially as regards the 03' with its diagnostic functions. I am not sure if the 84' DS ever had one, but I know the 02' did. Now, I am not beyond adjusting down the volume of the alert to not be so piercing or adding a different device with a more pleasing sound but I don't know for sure where it is or what it looks like. None of the components in the battery compartment have loose wires, but I suspect it is a round object near the backside of the forward reverse rocker switch. Anybody with a DSIQ have a picture handy to post so I can see what it looks like so I can troubleshoot it and can anybody tell me where it is supposed to be in the 84'?

On my 05 DS IQ it is behind the dash...It is round and about 1 1/2 " across...

On the ‘84 it should be under the drivers seat on the frame near the resistor coils, slightly above them. It may be white or cream colored.
