Default SW200 vs MZJ400A Solenoid

Hey guys. Im trying to decide between the 2 for when I add the Alltrax 500a controller. Im going to be putting on the executioner motor. Has anyone experienced anything better or worse vs the other or is the only noticeable difference between the 2 is there size?

Im sure someone will chime in with better knowledge but I think the big difference is that the SW200 contactor will give you better life than the MZJ400 solenoid but I dont know that you would see any other performance difference.

I pretty much use the MZJ400 on all my upgrades. Have for many years. The amperage is the only difference or than design and size. I just prefer the bigger 400.

The Amperage handling and switching specifications are the same. The SW200 has magnetic breakout which retards contact pitting resulting in a longer useful a longer useful life but this comes at the price of the SW200 being fairly large. The MZJ400 is big. The SW200 is substantially larger. See side by side pics on my website. Some carts may not have enough space for the SW200.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of them.

The SW200 however... is what many forklifts/electric material handlers are equipped with in my plant... so it has obviously been proven capable of long term heavy industrial use.

That looks really nice but i thought i read literally everywhere that you are supposed to mount the solenoid upright and not on its side? Also I dont think i have an OBC since Im a 2015 Precedent. So i should have the room I'm guessing....

Hopefully you did not read it in this site, You can mount it in any orientation, except upside down (big studs pointing down).

Actually thats correct, it was not on this site, ha. Good to know!!!

One place was the plumb quick website where it talks about the bandit motor. 3/4 way down the page it talks about installing the solenoid.

*Heavy duty 36 or 48 volt solenoid* and diode $180.00

Note: Solenoid MUST be mounted upright!
