Charging 48V battery pack out of the cart
I just changed to a RoyPow lithium pack for my Precedent, so now I have six 8-volt batteries that I would like to keep as spares for my other cart.
What would be the best way to keep these topped off? Is there a way to charge them all at once using my Lester II charger? If not, is there an inexpensive 8V battery charger available to keep them charged individually? As always, any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Here's one way - connect them all in series and get a charger connector like SB50 to battery pack and a SB50 cord for the Lester. Then charge as normal.

You can also do the same with an old 48v receptacle if you have one laying around. Just have them all connected as normal (Series'd) in your storage area. From the back of the receptacle, connect the Red wire to the MPP (+) and the Black wire to the MPN (-) and the grey wire is not used. Once every couple of months plug in your Lester and top them off.

Re: Charging 48V battery pack out of the cart
Thanks, guys! I found a cheap charging receptacle on eBay that says it fits a 1995-2006 CC DS. It looks like a regular 3-prong receptacle and has a red wire, a black wire, and a grey wire. Will that work with my Lester II?

Just remember when those batteries are sitting out of the cart wired in series you have a whole bunch of stored power. Make sure if something falls on them it can't short. ie.. build a cover..
