$2000 is a good price for a gas powered Club Car regardless of what year it is.
You can not miss with the DS, they run forever has a 2000 4 DS and I can't Kill it.
I too am into antique Cars, as well

I have always had a love for the Cord Motor Company, Here is a 1930 Cord,
But to me a 1935 Cord is still one of the prettiest cars ever made just my opinion.

Well tossing out the Yamaha Electric... too sketchy and wishy washy on the details and such.

stumbled on a EZGO Gaser says it is a 1991 Marathon w/ 5" Lift, Heavy Duty Springs, and 22" Tires, lights and a dump bed. supposedly top half of engine recently rebuilt. Was Asking $2000 but will take $1500.

Which gaser is the better STEAL and will last me the longest. One that I can mod and update with aftermarket or myself. What Engine would be in the EZGO ??

I am really leaning towards the Club Car.

If you can't drive the Yamaha because there are no batteries in it, how do you know it even works, that the electrics are good? That's a real gamble. And it was already modded in some way that you and the owner apparently, know nothing about. Why would you even consider buying something like that, unless you wanted it for parts.

Thanks, done a lot of work on the 29 over the last 4 years !! getting close to completion, getting excited as I am hoping to fire it up soon and get a test drive in by the spring.

looking at the cart for running around the show fields when i work them, usually borrow one from someone else. last year I used an electric, then had to take a break in middle of the day and charge it back up, lot of driving around and shuttling people. it had brand new batteries as well.

08 club car will be your best bet. Clean her up and mod it the way you want. Those FE290 engines are workhorses. We have the same engine in our old JD gator and honestly, we abuse the crap out of it and it starts all year round. Plus, you'd have to move over to the EZGO forum if you bought it...lol
Nice car!
