Default Kawasaki gear ratios

Hi all! I have a club car villager 8, 2007, gas. I recently installed an engine swap and high speed gears in the Kawasaki differential. I love the top speed but not the low end torque. So, I,m thinking about turning the Honda Gx630rh around to take advantage of the higher gear ratio in the reverse gearing. So, if I now have the 8:1 high speed gears in this differential, can anyone tell me what the reverse gear ratio is? I know the original gear ratios were 11.8:1 forward and 17.1:1 reverse.

Reverse as your new Forward with 8:1 gears would be close to 12:1.

But if you are going turn the engine around 180 degrees then you can get whatever ratio you want with different sprocket combinations on the jackshaft.

Great idea! Thanks. I guess I would not have to turn the engine around using this idea, would I?

I am not familiar with the Villagers. Did the original engine spin CW or CCW?

Doesn't the 630 spin CCW?

You could put the stock gears back in and then use this clutch:

I have this in my GX390 swap and it is a nice set-up. Torque and speed improvements all in one item.

That is the clutch I have installed, so I guess I will reinstall the stock gears and see what happens. Hope I don’t,t loose too much top end!
