Default clutch info

does any 1 know what model/type of clutch an 81 ezgo has .I know it is a comet and what up grades can be done....

I don't know the model ,but I think it is the same clutch from 79 up 2 cycles.I'm sure some one will correct me if i'm wrong, they usually do. It's not a comet, and comet went out of bussiness a couple years ago . However someone bought all the machinery and inventory and are suppose to starting production again.

If its' a comet,its' a replacement.Not sure but might be a 94c if i remember right.

I agree on the 94c's for the carts. I have heard some people say it wasn't that great of clutch.

i tride to take picsf the name on the clutch but they didnt turn out so here is some of the clutchf needs a little clean up some rest it has been siteing for awhile....does any 1 have an idea of how to clean it without messing it up.also how stiff should the spring be ..i have 2 one is stiffer than the other so what wood be better and what kind of lubb can be used on the clutch.

Comet made for sure, it looks like it is in fair shape. Grab
the swing ramps and twist them side to side to check
the pivot points for wear. When worn they can over ride
the edges of the rollers and chew up the spider near
the rollers. Check the rollers for wobble as well.
It is a 108 style clutch.

cleaned it up this morning and does not apear to have alot of wear on it and put some oil on all the parts and moved every thing to make sure it was lubed up good put it back together and now it all moves realy well .....is this a good clutch?I also had 2 springs and put the softer one in thier would that be the better one.
