I did say 1.5qt but..

Anyway, I have also seen dirty air filters do the same thing but the one in these pics didn't look too bad. Engine looks like it may have a few hours on it so I agree a compression check may be in order..

That is a lot of slope to the engine. I wouldn't be comfortable with that much slope. It would take a little engineering to drop the front mount down. The good thing is it bolts on and a drop bracket would not be too hard to make. Lowering the front end of the engine would level out the motor some.
