adjusting valves
I have read the thread about how to adjust the valves but this is something I have never done before. I was jhaving trouble with my cart not starting and I adjusted the valves per instructions and it cranks and runs now. My question is how do I know if it is right or just "close" to being right? I guess how much room for error is there?

Re: adjusting valves
If you did what the instructions said, then your good, did you use the feeler gauge to set the valves? If you did, and it is running better then you should be good.

Re: adjusting valves
I didn't use a feeler gauge. I turned the screw until it made contact and then backed off a 1/4 turn and tightened the nut.

Re: adjusting valves
$3.00 at harbor freight works well because its not a stressed tool. I buy cheap stuff that can't hurt me but good stuff for WORK. |
