Acceleration Smoke
Bought a 2007 TXT gas. I checked oil and saw it was about a 1/4" over the full line. I also notice a puff of oil smoke when accelerating and smell burned oil. I just changed oil and run it about a 1/4" below full mark.
Would this smoke be due to over fill. Will it go away now that I have changed oil and have it in the low to full range. Will this over fill hurt the engine? |

Re: Acceleration Smoke
I don't think you damaged your engine, but it can! I would check your air filter to see if oil has blown in on it. I've never had any luck cleaning them if it has gotten oil on it! Just clean out the housing and replace the filter.
While you're in the area, it wouldn't hurt to remove the fan cover and clean the cooling fins. If the engine runs borderline hot, it will smoke! |

Re: Acceleration Smoke
Thanks simple man.
I did check filter. No Oil and it is a new one. Engine compartment looks very clean but will definitely remove housing and make sure it is clean. Plan on running it today after changing oil and see if it stops smoking. |
