Default Starting problem G29

Hi, I'm new here. Great website. It's a wealth of info. I searched all the starting problem threads I could find but none address my problem. Here it is: Most of the time when starting it won't. Solenoid clicks and started spins slowly. If I rock the cart front to back While stepping on the gas pedal it will stat eventually. The cart isn't too old but it has been abused by my teenage son and his buddies. It keeps me busy repairing it. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe the starter brushes or maybe dirt in the starter. They get it pretty muddy some times.

Try this, put your voltmeter leads (positive on the starter/generator "feild" termanal, it's the one that comes from the solenoid. Put your negative to the end plate of the starter/generator end plate lead, it's the one that comes straight from the battery negative post) , put the car in nuetral or jack up the rear of the car, with the key on, push on the pedal. You should have full battery voltage 12 volts or more. If less then 10 volts, you have a battery or connection problem. If full battery voltage, the starter/generator needs to be taken apart and inspected. Please don't breath that dust, it's some nasty stuff! Let us know what you found.
