Even with the slight clutch issues the cart is running great. My electric cart will run 26-27 and the Yamaha will walk away from it. Rode it around with a big ol' grin on my face around my friends neighborhood till it ran outta gas, the same gas that was in the tank since CAW. I know that gas was atleast 4 months old. Can't wait to put some fresh gas in it tomorrow.

That's what I was talking to smallblock about. New sheave, ramp shoes and maybe a umax spring. It has the red plowmans spring in it now. Smallblock said he's not a big fan of the stiff springs.

I have the belt also. Not sure of the number on it but I'll check and post later.

Would I benefit from running higher octane gas? I gotta pick some up today for the cart and was wondering if medium or premium grade would perform better in the cart.

I do have an aluminum adjustable flywheel on the new motor with timing advanced about 8 degrees. It also has a 390cc head on it for more compression.

If I remember right, anything 9 to 1 compression and down, won't notice anything. 9 and a half and up you will.

I'm pretty sure I'm above 9 1/2. Don't you think with timing advanced to 8 and a 340cc head on a 420cc motor? I'll try some premium anyway.
