Re: driven clutch woes
Ok, someone clarify how to do this without the motor running. I don't want to " trial and error" with these belts running $50 apiece. Maybe by February I can get with Don and get him to set me up with a complete secondary. I just want to ride now. I have new sheaves with good ramps, new shoes coming. I really want to learn gas carts after being a sole sparky guy.

Re: driven clutch woes
This is how I did mine. I know it sounds primitive, but it works well, and I am pushing alot of horsepower for a cart.
First, check your motor/cradle mounts and make sure they are good. The crankshaft and the transaxle input shaft need to be parallel to each other. Then, the clutches need to be aligned correctly. When I installed my 94c, I measured the distance between the lowest part of the sheaves(at the center shaft). I ripped a piece of 1" lumber just about 1/32" larger than that dimension(about 3' long). I laid the piece of wood inside the primary clutch. It fit snugly, but not tight. You can take ahold of the other end of the wood and 'float' it in to center. You will feel it. The wood should line up perfectly centered with the top part of the secondary clutch. |
