G2 needs choke to run

Not likely, but make sure the outlet pipe didn't get mashed closed.

Another thing to check, is the plastic spacer between the carb and the head. It can crack, and cause a lean condition. May also be a good idea to change out the 2 gaskets on each side of that spacer, cause the old ones get brittle.

Update: I had a strange turn of events this weekend and I believe I solved the problem but im not sure why. The battery kept going dead on me on Saturday but would start right up using a jump box. So I went and got a new one and installed it flipped key ( I have a toggle switch so it starts with the key ) and nothing... no starter no solenoid click nothing. So in the process of elimination realized I had a bad ground on the battery post. The original old school sleeve style terminal connection was bad, I cleaned it up and she fired right up. I will pick up a straight clamp style tomorrow.

During the test drive I realize the cart is starting off much better with the new battery from stop (without toggle). Out of curiosity I turned the choke off. Ran better than ever, smooth and powerful! My hypothesis is, that the bad negative terminal caused the death of the battery which measured 10v with no measurable amps. But how could this have caused the cart to need choke to run? It was not a fuel problem, not air, but a poor spark issue? Im not convinced. Would the higher rpm when using the choke produce more volts so the generator could make up the difference between of what the battery was not producing?

None the less the cart runs great, im still going to check the valves. I hope this thread sheds some light for someone else. Things may not always be what they seem.
