Lester Summit ii Fault Code Issue

Hello everyone

Nearly done with the build of the 1986 CC DS
It's been a real fun project and plan to post some of the finished work at a later date, but I have an issue.

I purchased a Lester Summit 2 and am getting a fault code that stalls the charging.

Some info

Battery Type: Duracell GC8 (everything else out of stock) 48V total

Voltage across all Batteries: 50.4v

Voltage at receptacle: 50.4v

Each individual battery: 8.5v


Summit Fault code:*

Slow blink red

Fast blink yellow

Fast blink green


From the manual it appears to be a limit fault, but don't know how to troubleshoot or fix

I have contacted Lester and am awaiting response, but was wondering if anyone could add some insight.

What model number is the charger?
Most will do multiple voltage, but there are a few specific S2 models that will only do one voltage.

Have you set the battery profile and charger profiles using the charger connect app? Both of those need to be set correctly for it to charge properly.

*It's a model 30410 1050w charger
*Battery Profile 22001 (genie recommended)
*System Profile 29142 (though I disabled lockout and unchecked on board. The only other options in this field were auto scalable features)

Open to any ideas. I didnt see a lot of other features to change that made sense, and didnt want to start clicking random radio buttons.

22001 is for packs with capacity over 200ah.
The GC8 battery is only a 165ah rated if I remember right.
Did you mean 22201?

I would try 22201 if it's not set for that.
If that's what it's on then you may want to try 22205.

I tried switching to 22201 or 22205 and they both glove an error message of "model number does not support profile number"

Unfortunately I dont know what "model" they are speaking of or why. This is frustrating, thank you for your help.

Then those may not be compatible with the 1050w charger.
22000 should work, since that is designed for a pack between 150-200ah, but the initial charge rate is pretty high for that pack at 22A. It may still set an error.

If that doesn't change anything try 22030.
This is similar to the 22000 but the initial charge rate is 13.5A which may be better suited for your pack.

Unfortunately the problem persists. Thanks for the advice though. I wonder if there is a setting I'm missing vs it being a defective unit

Ok, what kind of charge plug are you using? Do you have full pack voltage at the pins of the plug?
When you plug the charger into the cart, measure the voltage at the terminals on the charger and make sure you also get full pack voltage there.

Couldnt check yesterday so broke out the voltmeter this morning.

Crowsfoot connector (but will switch to SB50 when this gets resolved.)

50.3v at batteries, at receptacle, and charger terminals. Polarity is the same as well. Rechecked directions on attaching cable as well on Lester website.
