Default 89 yamaha g2e

Ok I need help I have a G2E that was working fine. I ran over a puddle and it stopped working. I found the one battery wire was broke so I replaced it and noticed the wires on the solenoid where burnt. So I replaced the solenoid but now the cart will not move at all. If I bypass solenoid the cart runs but without switch being on, and the coil heats up. Is there a switch or something I am missing?. Please Help I have two daughters that love going for rides on the "Buggy"

Look at this post. It is the wiring diagram for the G2E carts.

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-diagram.html

There are 3 switches (main, cut-off, and an accelerator cut-off switch). Also check the positive and negative fuses ( probably under the seat on the driver's side rear fender well). By looking at the diagram anytime the relay coil is engaged it is sending power through the resistor coil and to the tram motor.
