Default Machined Clutch Effects

I want to get more low end torque out of my 07 club car. I have increased the top speed with the gas pedal rod and governor spring adjustments. If I have the clutch machined will it effect my speed? I've looked around other threads but have not seen anything that leads me either way.

Great Forum! Plenty of knowledge here!

I also have a 2007 CC, and I asked a similar question last year. The answer was that the machined clutch should have no effect on speed whatsoever.

Like you, I adjusted the governor spring and gained significant speed. Seeking additional torque, I bought a new driven clutch and sent it to Tom at CPP for machining (want to keep the original clutch as unmodified). I just received it back yesterday, but my cart is stored at our cottage so I won't have a chance to install it for a couple of weeks.

While envious of the side-by-sides that rip past me, I have tried to keep in mind that it's a golf cart. Perhaps one day I'll invest in a faster machine, but for now, mine is fun.

I'll post what I believe to be the results after Labor Day. Best wishes regarding your modifications!

I had my clutch machined (and had the torque spring added) and there was no noticable effect on speed at all. The only difference I noticed was that I was able to climb and crest almost any hill I ran across after the clutch work was done.
