Default Battery leak

Does anyone have a problem with batteries leaking just sitting there? Bought a '14 rxv a couple weeks ago. Charged it one night and came out to acid on the floor. Checked on the fluid levels and they were pretty full w/ one cell having exposed plates. Haven't charged it for almost a week and every morning I come out to moisture on the top of a few batteries. Wipe them off and same thing the next day.

I found out that it does have a flow-rite watering system on it. Are these things junk and prone to causing that issue? Should I rip it out and put regular caps on? Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Battery leak

Since you have a possible battery problem(s) it might be a good idea to replace the watering system with regular caps. The batteries (especially the one with exposed plates) can create hydrogen gas during charging or operating and migrate to the rest through the interconnecting hoses and go boom. You need to make some voltage measurements of the individual batteries. You might be in the market for a new set. I have a fill-rite watering system with the proper adaptor and use distilled water and a modified connecting hose hand pump sprayer to fill them. I have no complaints with it..yet.
