That depends upon which S4 model it is. I've seen a lot of S4s based upon the TXT48 platform, and I've seen more S4s based upon the RXV platform in recent years. The RXV platform ones you cannot cut the wires without damaging the controller, it has to be turned off with a programmer or diagnostic handset.

Best thing to do is put a piece of electrical tape over it. You still get the reverse warning but it isn't so darned loud. It roughly cut my buzzer in half. Way better.

There was a guy who had the buzzer removed from his cart at his rental house. A couple were near it when a kid hit the gas pedal. The cart was in reverse and ran over the mom and put her in a bad way. She sued the guy because the disabled buzzer posed an intentional safety hazard. I don't remember if she won or not, but just something to keep in mind if other people may be on your cart.

Yep, if you are renting a house, and it comes with a golf cart, you better make sure it's functioning perfectly with all safety equipment. Lesson of this story: don't rent out your golf carts, it's just a hassle, that might cost you a half a million bucks. Rented golf carts have about 4x higher rate of rollover (they didn't just fall over by themselves), and I'm sure the "abuse maintenance" is obscene.
