Default TXT stretch length

I'm gonna be starting a stretch project, but I can't find any information regarding the length of the stretch. Anyone know how long the frame needs to be extended? I'm going to try to keep it standard length so I can use production floor pans, mats, and rocker rails.

I did a stretch kit once, and with the rear seat kit the overall length was about 12 feet. I believe the stretch adds about 3 1/2 feet but I don’t know for sure. Are you buying a whole kit or making the frame rails yourself? I can tell you what kit NOT to buy...

I'm a pretty good fabricator, so I thought about doing it all myself since most kits I find are bolt-together, and I prefer the frame be welded. But, that being said, having the other accessories like the rockers, floor, floor mat, and center pod might be nice if they all came together. Gonna sit down and search out the parts today and see what I can find, then weight the price vs. the convenience.

I bought the M&M vehicles kit and it’s very poorly designed. It was a “bolt together” kit but that’s a joke. I welded every part.

Been looking at the cost of these kits, and with the other upgrades I am planning on I just dont see it in the budget to buy a kit. However, I am having difficulty sourcing the individual parts. Gonna keep looking.

That's why I went with the kit tyhuck. I too was having a time with individual parts. I bought the same kit that Luke did and i thought it turned out great. While advertised as a bolt on kit, I had no intentions of doing that. the frame extensions included actually provide several places to weld. It, in my opinion, is a very well thought out kit that has performed great for me.

You didn’t find the open corners on the frame extensions bending? I had to add about four more bolts on each end and weld it. I also requested a white seat pod and got black...nice cart BTW.

I never tried to put any weight on it with just bolts. I only used the bolts to hold everything square to weld. While I like the kit, it really is not a "bolt on" affair. I had intentions on welding from the get go, and I think anyone considering the MM kit should realize that it's just not going to be durable without welding. I do wish they would quit advertising it as a bolt on.

Realistically, the only parts I am looking for are the rocker pannel covers. I dont need the fancy stainless or polished aluminum, just the plain black plastic ones are OK with me. I have the equipment, and can get the 1x2" tubing for fabrication. I just need the trim pieces to make it look like it wasnt a hack job.

If that's the case, you can check ebay. They have diamond plate c channel like 1x1x96 that would make easy rocker covers. It's pretty cheap if memory serves. You'd only have to cut the slant for the front and the contours for front/rear body.
