And I think everything I "assumed" is probably either wrong, or only applicable in certain conditions.

In any event, hubs strip. I was only trying to state the worst case, which may not be so.

I feel more Gravity Force (Gs) by hitting the brakes at maximum velocity, than I do by punching it from a dead stop.

I was merely trying to eliminate one variable - tire size - which is probably wrong.

NOW, who thinks max torsion is a result of acceleration vs. deceleration???

Only because we are pushing them WAY beyond design parameters. We both said (+/-) that they were designed for two fat people, a few drinks, and two golf bags, running on turf tires, at accelerations and decelerations that won't hurt golf course turf - FOR THE WARRANTY PERIOD. Stock controller, stock motor, stock cables, stock rear-end, stock tires, ...

What's the stated Useful Life for a stock buggy?

Why you think anybody is saying anything to cause any comments to be " fake news" I have no idea.

I think it was a fair question to ask what you meant by "terminal velocity" in this situation.

Just joking. Too much TV and Twitter attacking my brain.

You didn't quote my whole sentence where I used the term "assuming"...

Question was fair, but again, I was assuming something that may or may not be correct.

Your question deliberately FAILED to include the fact that I was ASSUMING something was true to reach a conclusion.

If my assumption is correct, tell me if you agree.

If my assumption is wrong, tell me why.

Let's hang it up. I said what I thought was worst case, and stated my assumptions.

OK. Replace the the word you use "assumes" with "means."

What does terminal velocity have to do with anything?

Read Post #8. I was just making a casual statement that JohnnyB refuted. Then I stated my error in spelling out my exact assumptions, namely, that I felt like terminal velocity governed, but my Post #8 statement made it sound like I meant max motor RPM. Max buggy MPH "could" govern, which was my assumption. I also stated that reduced hub RPMs will result in reduces drive train losses.

Not in my language, nor ANY language of any engineer in any country.

Again,
Who cares what the worst case scenario is for a twenty year old hub? Mine have seen 30+ MPH downhill with four adults, two extra batteries, rear seat, and slamming on the brakes, which IMMEDIATELY locked up.

"I routinely twist the maximum allowable torquage" on my hub.

Obviously you have your own language. We, the uneducated masses must defer to your superiority.

OK. In my four subdivisions, the best hill is a hard 90° turn. I choose to hit it where I take a left, as that allows me to go wide open in the right-hand lane, then turning left and punching it.

Over the 9+ years I've driven this route, I've found that with the go pedal to the floor, my MPH soon tops out around 1/3 of the way down. I do the same and let off the go pedal, and still hit the same speed, using an Alltrax ExRay speedo.

Which leads me to assume, that adding cart energy to gravity - which is an acceleration - yields no added MPH.
