It looks identical to the 3 position switch Ezgo used shown attached but with numbers. I would venture to guess your 2 is I and 3 is L, so the terminal at the top of the picture is B and the bottom terminal is B1
B is the 36 or 48v + input.
B1 is the 12v + input
Verify this with a multi meter.
B and I should be 2 legs of a switched circuit.
B1 and L should be 2 legs of a switched circuit.
Assume you have 4 wires dangling? with your meter ID and tage the one that has 36/48 volt + all the time.
And ID and tag the one that has 12v + all the time. That IDs 2 of the 4, there are 2 unidentified wires left.
Simply hold the 12v wire to each of the unidentified wires and see when the lights come on... this wire goes to L
The remaining unidentified wire is the I wire for ignition.

You're lucky those kids weren't any smarter, they almost had it. Consider installing a remote cut off switch

Scotty you mention kill switch for protection.
Where would you suggest installing one? I have a run tow switch on my txt cart and was considering installing a battery cut off switch on main battery cable going to selonoid
like the perk switch used on my boat but don’t want to chance damaging controller.
Thoughts?

Anywhere before or after the run tow switch will work. I've seen some pretty clever in dash buttons used too... like a seemingly dead light switch that had to be on to run.
