Default Powerwise charger clicking noise

Just purchased 1995 medalist with dead batteries and a faulty Powerwise charger. Found on line how to diagnose the charger and the circuit board is bad. Article told how to bypass the board which I did and the charger started working. After 5 minutes or so the charger started to make a clicking noise about every 5 seconds or so and it continued to get louder. I unplugged it and walk away😬. Is the clicking sound normal or was it a warning that things were headed south? Thanks

Too vague. What's up with your batteries? They so low the charger can't qualify them as a "set of batteries for me to charge"? At this point with your provided info, we can't do much.

So many questions...Start with the Health of your battery pack first than concern yourself with operation and charging. The age, Brand, an open or shorted cell, water level, SOC, cables are observations that must be made. Dead old batteries just setting for around for months probably will end up in the scrap yard. 6V batteries can be paired up so a 12v car charger can bring some life back into them. Be safe friend, a battery can go BOOM, if dry or shorted.
