Default 2015 2five - Wiper doesn't work

Hello,

My windshield wiper doesn't work anymore. According to the wiring diagram [see attachment], it seems like the wiper motor and brake lights (at least the center/top one) are part of the same wiring / harness connection.

I tested my brake lights and the center one lit up, so I can confirm that there's power going through the harness connector. So I opened up the wiper control switch compartment to check out the wiring, and with my multimeter (and the vehicle on and in forward gear) tested to see if there was any voltage (I'm assuming 12V from the DC to DC converter) on the power wire and ground wire [see attachment].

I unplugged those two wires from the tabs they're pushed onto, and connected my multimeter's positive lead to the power wire and negative lead to the ground wire. It indicated that there was no voltage.

Is this reading correct and there will only be voltage detected when the wiper motor is on (and the power/ground wires properly seated on the metal tabs), or should I be able to read voltage no matter what? Trying to diagnose this problem without taking apart too much of the vehicle to inspect the wiring. Cheers!

Should be voltage all the time. The switch is on the wiper itself. Have you checked the fuse block near the driver side rear wheel?

I have not. Do you have any pictures or schematics of where that is / which fuse? I've only seen the fuse block that is below the driver's seat right next to the DC-DC converter. Is the wiper and center/top brake light not on the same fuse?

No they arent. Its 4 wires up to the wiper, then 2 back to the lamp. Pop the little "vertical rectangle cap" off just next to the drivers side glovebox to inspect the plug that goes up the roof support, there you can also verify its 2 separate circuits.

Well that's good news then. I did pop the rectangle cap off before expecting to see the wiring, but it looked empty in there, I can check again to confirm though.

Is it the fuse block right under the driver's seat? I saw 5 fuses in there, which one would it be? And is an ATC 10A fuse the correct type to buy?

I checked the fuses and they all seemed good. I took a picture of the fuse block and one of the fuses, is this the right spot for the wiper (and pretty sure that fuse is still good, metal inside is still connected)

I have seen several 2five wiper failures. It's insane $ to fix it with new motor.

I just took a better voltage reading on the power supply to the wiper motor and was getting 13.5V. I'm assuming the motor has a voltage tolerance greater than that and it wasn't burned out by the extra +1.5V.

And ya, buying a new one is $366: https://shop.txtsv.com/wiper-motor-assembly, pretty expensive

Yep. They are pricey. Mine was not working when I purchased my 2Five. Needed it for the state inspection sticker so had to purchase a new one. Did catch a 20% off sale from EZGO, so saved a little there.

That's not the problem... even 12v batteries arent 12v, they're 12.6v (2.1v per cell x 6 cells). 13.5 is about the voltage one would expect in a running automobile with a properly working charging system. And their "12v" wiper motors work fine.
