Default Chargers won’t pick up charge

I let my cart get to a significant state of discharge... now neither of my chargers will pick up the charge

I charged the batteries until the pack voltage is at 37V but neither my Accusense nor my Powerwise will pick it up

The charge port has the 37V but still neither charger will take over

Any suggestions?

I too had the same issue. I used a 6/12v battery charger and charged 2 batteries at a time ( I have 6 8volt batteries) and finally the madjax charger picked up the batteries and started charging at a trickle charge and it took over 24 hours to fully charge the cart. My Accusense did not recognize the batteries, even fully charged. Figured out the Accusense has a bad relay switch that i have a new one ordered to replace it. There is a charger that is fairly cheap that does not have to sense a certain voltage to charge that I was going to get if I couldn't get the two I have to charge the cart.

It wouldn’t surprise me if both chargers just happened to go bad simultaneously... when it comes to these carts, I’ve had crazier problems... However, both of these chargers worked fine before I let this battery pack get low

I did have to charge them back up manually

Bypass the relay on the control board in the PW 28115, then it will turn on whenever it is plugged into AC power.

If the batteries still won't charge, there is an issue in the cart.

I’d kinda like it to work like it’s supposed to.. if I bypass the relay, will it still shut off when fully charged?

No it won't shutoff. Bypassing the relay is a temporary measure to facilitate troubleshooting.

You've either got two sick chargers or a sick cart. Odds are a sick cart.

Also, the DPI should give you an error code if it doesn't advance from the detection phase to the bulk charge phase.

The Accusense is charging now but I had to get the pack up to about 40V before it would... The PW still won’t do anything

The DPI should advance from the pre-qualification phase to the bulk charge phase when the pack voltage (as detected by the charger) is 31.5V, which is also about the same voltage the PW 28115 needs to detect to turn on.

I suspect the chargers aren't fully seeing the battery pack voltage for some reason.

Pop the cover off the PW, plug it into the cart without plugging it into AC power and measure the voltage on the red and black wire going to the control board. Should be same as whatever the pack voltage is at the time.

The attached manual has cover removal instructions for the PW on page-11.
