CC precedent stops going 48v
2008 club car precedent 48 volt. New batteries and cables. Full charge. It will move about 20 feet and then feels like it shuts off. Then it won’t move until it sets for a while. If I jack the rear in the air it does great. It’s swapped from 12 volt batteries to 8 volt. It has version 4.0 on computer. It had this problem with the old 12 volt batteries also. If I push it with the switch in run position it sets the alarm and puts the brake on. So I would guess the speed sensor is ok. Thank you for any help.

Check if the precharge resistor on the solenoid is getting hot.

Re: CC precedent stops going 48v
I changed out the f/r switch because of some info on another forum but that didn’t help. Pumping the pedal 20 or 30 times doesn’t help either. Letting it sit for a while seems to help a bit. Once it gets a load on it like crawling over a tree root sticking out of the ground it quits.

Re: CC precedent stops going 48v
Update. I replaced the controller thinking that was the problem from what I’ve searched on here. That didn’t fix it.

Re: CC precedent stops going 48v
What controller did you install? What gauge are the new cables? Also, what size tires are you running? Is the cart lifted? This information might help the experts help you with the problem.

Thank you. Controller is a Curtis with speed code 5 from a 2020 precedent. I picked it up used on this forum. 215/40/12 tires. Little bigger then stock. No lift. 2/0 battery cables. |

Re: CC precedent stops going 48v
What kind of Controller did You have before, the black IQ or Gray Excel?
The new controller is not plug-and-play on the older carts, at the very least You will need to change one wire to provide the negative to the speed sensor. If your cart serial number starts with "PH" (Grey Controller), there is also an issue with the throttle wires. What is the current problem? |
