What's the amp draw on a horn?

Depending on the answer, and the switch he's using, might need a relay.

We could make this really complicated or we could just concede that thousands of 6 and 12v horns have been used on golf carts with relays, regulators, reducers, or refibrillators for decades without problem.... several of which have been blown until the cows came home .... What!? Not loud enough you say? Move a wire over to the next battery and see if makes enough noise on 18v for your needs

Sorry, didn't mean to complicate. My gasser had a horn button which looks to be pretty substantial, and with what appears to be 14 AWG. wire.

I didn't know whether he had a good switch or a cheap Chinese switch.

Excuse my ignorance, but, would 18 volts fry my horn or make it louder?...I can't tell if you are just being facetious....

You can increase voltage on horns, you just can't hold the button long and expect it to last.... I'm not suggesting it but it something I have done.
