He said the charger was new when he got the cart a couple of years ago but I am going to try to convert to a 48 so it may not matter too much.
That is a good deal, just look it over real good, if you are going to go to 48V then most of what is in there will not matter. Even if there are issues with the rear it will not cost that much to get it running.

Well, since nobody has asked you yet, what is the seller asking for it? Doesn't come with a charger? Is it 36v or 48v? Request more pictures of under the seat and we can better assist you.

We have a small place that has a few rolling hills but is really rocky. Mainly want to drive the kids around and see the deer, rabbits, stuff like that. I'll also use it to go to and from the blind though.

I'll also use it in the neighborhood and on skeet shoots. I am going to try to upgrade it to 48v since it needs batteries anyway.

That brings up another question. Why can't I just build a new tray to hold 4-12V golf cart batteries? why does everyone do either 8-6's or 6-8's? I know my buddies club car has 4-12volt batteries.

You will have less run time with 4-12V batteries vs 8-6V batts, or 6-8V batts. Don't look at buying them at Academy or someplace else, go to one of the local dealers or I can tell you where to go buy them at locally. You will spend approx 600 or more for the batteries, not trying to scare you just telling you as it is.

The extra's can be fixed cheaper than the cart can.

Now if the cart has more problems then price should go down. Non running cart with the lift and such as this one I wouldn't pay over $1000.00 for it.
If the battery gets it running then whatever price he is asking will be OK.If it's not some crazy price.
Nah! Before y'all are done with him, he'll have new batteries, new wires, new solenoid and controller, new or upgraded FNR, new motor, lift, etc.

All he needs is an excuse, like most of us.

funny you mention it wrong way, i just finished looking through your build

I think I'll stop after the 36volt cart with the back seat ...and the new batteries...and the upgrade to 48volt...and the controler and solenoid and silver soldered wires from ScottyB...but then I'm pretty sure I'm done ...except for an upgraded light kit later, and a 12v cigarrette lighter adapter to run the tailgate feeder and spot light...but then I'm seriously done...
